I recently odered and received 2 IDs for me and my Buddy thru Zannotis. I to have the local dealer where we purchased our 07's do the install. I was told due to the fact that I DID NOT purchase them from his dealer I would have to pay full install {2 HRs} My point is He is now singing a different tune but I have to buy the IDS system thru him at a reduced price and have the install do and warranty will be in effect...Zannotis Staff {TIM} was a gentleman and is going to do a full refund but i do have to pay return shipping

This install takes about1 hour.... it's too easy. A cave man can do it!!

Do it yourself , why should it matter where you bought it as long as it is original H-D parts ? These jerks have no problem installing aftermarket stuff and overcharging labor costs.

 

I have bike jack and table lift. my problem is I never took off the rear wheel. I don;t want to find out I did something wrong at 80 MPH
and nowI find out there is no warranty on the install just the OEM part

Quick question about that. When you take off the rear wheel are there marks on the swing arm to line up the wheel?

 

I know on my dyna there is a hole in the swingarm approx 2-3 inches forward of the rear axle. You measure from the center of the axle to the hole. Each side should be same measurement. A bent "L" shaped clothshangerwould work

 

Different model years do it differently.You really should buy a service manual and make sure you're doing everything correctly (axle nut torque, belt tension etc.).

It really is an easy job....to answer your question...there are cam plates to make alignment fool proof. You may want to add some anti seize when you re-install the axel since they don't put much on it at the factory for some reason. The other adjustment, other than alignment, is belt tension.

 

I'm not a mechanic and i do the install myself, take mearound 2 hours . easy job and i $ave some $$$$
