Has anyone lowered just the rear on the SG's? How would this affect the handling? I just paid to have the front end chromed and forgot about lowering it and don't want to pay to have the front end torn down again. I am trying to get about an inch lower for us vertically challenged individuals........... Any advice would be appreciated!
Dropping the rear another inch would cause cornering problems IMHO. Maybe you could have a custom seat made that would allow lower saddle height instead..[8D]

I used a lowering kit on my 07SG dropped it 1.25" and have noticed no difference in handling. you do have to pump you shocks up to about 25 PSI AND Im not sure how well it would work with a rider. I ride single always.
It does not do any thing to the bike turns are no problem I just ran the Dragon 5-6 times its NOT a jap bike so I don't think you will be scraping your knees Its a touring bike after all.( plus it looks cool )
