Default Loud clank while shifting into 1st

After I had the Isolator sprocked installed I have amuch louder clank while shifting into 1st gear. I'm told the 08's are the same. I installed 75w140 mobil to quiet it, but it is still very loud. Am I the only one who has this problem or is it a design problem? Help.

I am having the same problem on a new 08, I was considering changing to the heavier tranny fluid but I'm not sure that it will have any effect.

My 07 does that and I wonder, could it be a clutch problem like it is not fully disengaging?

Try this guys, not sure whether it works on yours though..

Instead of the usual firing up by just pressing the start button, clutch in and hold it there, then press the start button.
Once fire up, 2 sec later then shift into first gear.
I found my shifting becomes much much quieter and smoother..

Let me know whether it works on yours..mine is a 05 FLHRC

Agree.. I've always held my clutch in while starting.. Just don't trust the little green light anyway.
Seems to have smoother shifts as you mention
