Pipe Dreams lmao....

RE: Pipe Dreams lmao....
if the only reason you want 2-1 is cause of the power, don't do it. You won't be happy. You're talking about losing less than 5 hp or ftlb, probably closer to 3. You will never notice that except at the drag strip and at the dyno. Which one do you ride on everyday?

Thanks! That was just what I've been wondering as to the extent of the loss in power. I didn't want to spend a ton of cash in a build and short change myself due to my pipes. On the other hand, I like what I am running now as well. Not chasing numbers mind you but was purely interested if there was that much of a BIG change relative to loss of torque & hp.

Damn it man, now there's a hell of a concept! You'll blow anyone off the slab!

I've been thinking of going 2-1 when I build mine and using the fake pipe to hide a small compressor and air tank for some serious air horns.

Differerent storkes.... I will NEVER have a bagger with two goofyass pipes hangin out the back!

btw - there's a store locally with the same name as this thread.... Different pipes though!

I don't get why some think it looks lopsided. Does it look lopsided on a softail? Just because there's a bag on both sides doesn't mean a pipe needs to be there. And since when does a few pounds of tq. or a few ponies not matter? We buy sert's and dtt to tune for more hp but don't care when it comes to having a pipe for each bag!

So call me Mr Fickel...but I'm back with a D&D Fatcat on my SG. I started with VH Oval slip on's, moved to VH True Duals, moved to Fatcats with Ghost pipe, back to True Duals, now it's a Fatcat, standard baffle, no Ghost pipe on my new build and I'm digging it. I'm going start a post on my latest "stuff", including my Wood cams, but for now I gotta say this go around with the Fatcat and 10-1CR is a lot different than the whole 95", SE 203's, and stock Heads. I like the look so much better without the Ghost pipe on it, plus I lost the weight! I like the performance even better!

You know Phil....sometimes you just gotta figure things out the hard way...I know YOU know what I mean! BTW...the SE Heads, Fatcat, and TW 6 cams make for a nice combo. With the higher CR, this pipe feels totally different. Seriously a very smooth powerful ride. I will say this...with the higher compression...they are pretty loud till I get into cruising mode...then they quiet down. I like the sound a lot. I'm still glad I didn't go the quiet baffle route. The Wood cams are smoking but I have to say, these chain drive 6's have more valve train noise than my old .575 lift TW5 gear drives. I'm gonna have to settle in to the ticking and just ride. I do wish they weren't quite so noisy. I thought by staying lower lift they wouldn't make as much noise, and they aren't horrible, but I guess after the silent 203's anything would sound loud. They are seriously strong pulling cams though and I'm happy for now
