How many of you change it every time you change oil in your car? Id bet few if any, I agree its probably not a bad idea but I think changing it every time is an overkill. Im still amazed how people freak out and over analyse everything on a Harley but will overlook the same questions on a automobile.

I always change it, makes little sense not to. Wouldn't want to develope a leak on the road.

F.y.I. the o-ring is 9/16 o.d. x 7/16 I.d. 1/16 cross section (thickness) buna or viton material is fine.

I've used them several times and never had a problem. But as a precautionary habit maybe change the o-ring every other oil change and you'll never have an issue. True Value has them for MUCH cheaper than H-D sells them. Get a pack of 10 of them and that'll last you a couple years easily.

Anyone know what size hole the drain plug actually fits into? Im also curious who uses thread sealant, the manual calls for that on the threads and have yet to hear anyone mention it but Im more interested in what the hole size is?
