RE: Speaker (poll only, not a debate)
Morel Integra Ovation XO 5`s with crossover networks(up front) with an Alpine PDX amp at 100 x 4 and stock speakers at the rear.
I installed a pair of SoundGate`s 2 channel line output converters. It sounds great. The Morel`s are very expensive, but well worth it. IMO..

First of all I think the model year of your bike and it's radio have a lot to do with the sound to start with. One's individual taste is even more subjective. I had the stock speakers and hated them. Went with high dollar Alpine but they weremuffled at volme. This is when I was educated about impedance and ohms. Then bought HogTunesand installed inall four holes, great sound but for me again not enough volume to get the clear sound I desire at highway speedswhile wearing a 1/2 helmet. I bought J&M while in Sturgis for the 1700 mile ride back while wearinga 3/4 helmet and could hear those speakers much clearer. They are my favorite so far.
I will say that if I had an amp which one day I will I would prefer the Hogtunes over them all. I base that on the fact that I already like their sound and they have the largest magnet of them all leading me to believe you could throw some serious power to them. They (Hogtunes) are suppose to be working on speaker Pods for the lower fairings which would give you 4 in front, but I have not seen anything on that in awhile. I know that Pez will sell you his amp separately but it's not listed on his sight, so I question the price and compatibility. So many choices and allot of misinformation out there.
I think that most of the people here want to go the cheap route, don't ride allot at highway speeds above 75mph and they aren't music freaks like some of the rest of us. So they buy JBL (which by the way sound great on my home entertainment system) and what ever else that are not rated for motorcycleswith the ohms required for their particular bike. Anything willwork, but if theohms are wrong it will sounddistorted or muffled and coulddamageyour radio in time.
For the stock radio with the best sound withoutother modifications, I vote J&M.
