I am in the middle of a true dual install and there is no mention of how tight to tighten the clamps that hold the muffs on the header. Shouls I use the factory torque specs on these clamps? They do not look as strong as the HD ones

 

I use copper permatex on my slipons so if i need to remove them it would be easier.I just do a good n snug tightening on the clamps. If you over tighten them you can risk of mushrooming the end of your header pipe. good Luck JimmyZ

 

Can't answer your question, but the clamps that came with my V&H Dresser Duals had aircraft clamps with them. I don't think they would come loose in a lifetime.

Also, jimmyz has some good advice on overtightening and mushrooming...I did that once too...it's not good.

clamps only hold mufflers in place...
