The worse problem is that only motorcycles are being profiled. Some cars and trucks are louder, but the law is for bikes. Once they pull you over they look for the EPA stamp which is only on stock mufflers.

Saw one article where a ticket was dropped Denver.
Apparently the cop failed to get down in the dirt and actually look for the stamp.

I read about that too about Denver. The article went on to say that several areas around the country are pushing to keep motorcycle owners from changing their pipes all together. In other words maintain factory stock pipes!
Funny thing about Texas is that we don't like to be controlled by anyone period! Saturday while riding I pulled up next to a Harris County Sheriff bike and he had pipes louder than mine! I don't see it happening soon within Texas!

The problem becomes if you give them an inch they take a mile. If one area can do it and get away with it - then it will happen in other areas. There are certain bikes I can't ride behind because of the loud pipes. They are straight drag pipes - I frankly can't see a reason for that but each his own. But the day will be coming if we don't do something about our rights - helmets, pipes - what would be next???????
