Some So. California Areas have been doing the same...

TEMECULA (Old Town) - SAN DIEGO - ORANGE COUNTY (mostly the beach area's)... Just to name a few...
Really? I haven't been bothered by any LEOs here in SoCal. I think as others have said if you're minding your own business I doubt they will bother you.
Well it's been in most News Papers in those areas and here on the forum a few times also..

What is the "stamp" and where is it?
THIS HARLEY-DAVIDSON EXHAUST 65547-07 SYSTEM MEETS EPA NOISE EMISSION
REQUIREMENTS OF 80 dB (A) FOR THE FOLLOWING MOTORCYCLES. INSTALLATION OF THIS
EXHAUST SYSTEM ON MOTORCYCLES NOT SPECIFIED MAY VIOLATE FEDERAL LAW.

HARFLT1584

It's present on the just-out-to-the-side bottom of each muffler. The last number (HARFLT1584 in this example, from my RKC) matches the number on the sticker on the lower-left frame front down-tube. It's actually a violation of the EPA regulations if those numbers don't match; don't know how closely those regulations are followed in Denver, et al.

I used to ride in Denver "in the good old days" from 1976 to 1990. Never had a problem with pies back then. i'm really sorry to hear about this. I DO remember the Denver PD being non Biker friendly on a regular basis and I think it had to do with the clubs that rode there. I'll bet this ordinance is aimed more at them than at the "regular rider". Just another way to exert control over us "scumbags" [:'(]

The ones that are ruining it for everybody is the one's running straight or drag pipes; it only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for everybody else.I also believe in having a little consideration for your neighbors by not gunning your engine on thoseearly moringing or late night runs (there's a time & place for everything).

I am a Corvette Owner, and I wonder if Denver has pulled over any of the new Z06 Corvettes. If you open them up, they have a two stage muffler from the factory, they are very loud, sound like a stock car on a race track. GM got away with it by only having the system opening up over 3,000 rpm. I Know this is a Harley Site, my point is that other vehicles are loud at high RPM, Maybe we need to design a two stage muffler?

Out of 27 bikes in over 40 years of riding, this is my 10th HD---and the only one I have ever left stock pipes on--they sound pretty good---besides that, I like to hear the CD player

Daytona has had a noise ordinance for a few years now. I haven't seen anyone get a ticket for loud pipes that didn't deserve it. There's no reason for sitting in traffic counstantly cracking you throttle just to draw attention to yourself. It actually gets quite funny to watch on Main St. It get so busy during bikeweek that you're basically walking your bike down the street and these guys sit there cracking their throttles. The cops simply walk up to them on foot, tap them on the shoulder and make them stop for their ticket.
