....Whatch OUT!...the "Opinion Police" didn't like it when I said that...now they'll come after you..RUNNNNN!!!![8D]..oh...and then they'll call you Gay..what a bunch of touchy bas*ards...(gay, goofy,ugly,funky...what the hell does it matter how you say you don't like em?..what,..did I **** off the Gay people on this board?)
I must've changed a million things on my old FXRS but I stayed with the factory mirrors. They were great. The factoryteardrop-shaped mirrors on my new EGC aren't near as good as the old-style rectangular ones.
Hey man...thats a sweet scoot you got there! I think the new mirrors look like they belong on a bar hopper with a 300 rear tire. Doesn't go with that old schoolnastalga look you got there. Just my 2 cent!!
Probably don't work on your style of bike. Agree with other person who said they are a "'bar-hopper" style...which is cool on that type of bike.
Have an '08 Street Glide and am going for improvement in function. Fairing mount mirrors don't give a wide enough angle to suit my fear of something creeping up on me fromthe rear. Just saw ad for www.wickedimage.com and replacement fairing mount mirrors that include a small fish eye. Anyone know anything about them?
it seems to me that my left mirror is shorter than my right one.
i can see whats behind me from theright but in the left one i can only see my shoulder.
a guy at the dealer said its "supposed" to be like that. BS!
i cant like the stock mirrors.
You dont have a hunch back do ya? J/K they are not supposed to be that way, check to see if your mounts ( control clamps)are squared and level when the buke is up and straight, had similar issue, not the hunchback though.
I had the same problem. I wrote to H-D. Told them selling a bike that a 6'1" 230lb man can't see past his shoulders is just plane stupid. You gotta draw the line on accessorize somewhere. They need to give you 2" up and 2" out. I had to spend $200 on mirrors (made the guys hold them up on a Deuce in the showroom to make sure I could see) on billet mirrors to just ride safely. And the mirror film is so thin (these are H-D mirrors), that you can actually see thru the mirror in certain light to the hardware inside.
I actually think the ones that come on the newer bikes lookbetter than the aftermarket ones Ive seen. I was glad HD got away from those big square "tv set" type mirrors.
I like those Kuryakyn mirrors. I willsend mine back but I will have to pay 20% re-stocking fee. I rode to work today and I couldn't she anything. My safety is more important.
