There is a lot to be said about the quality of the disc - try getting the highest quality - sometimes that is the issue.

Okay here it is
I was not happy with everything that I was hearing from the service department. I called Harley Davidson Corporate from the phone number given in their website. Here is the customer service number 414-343-4056. I was on hold for awhile but was surpirsed at the agent I talked to. She did the research and even called me back twice this afternoon. When I got to the dealership they were still finalizing the download. They finally tried my MP3 disc in 7 or 8 other bikes at the dealership. The disc worked in all other bikes. They did the most current download and now everything works. It finally even names the songs that are on the disc.
Now I got my bike back, clean and the MP3 disc works.

The factory refurb unit is supposed to cure the problems with the new ones that come with the bike.
But doesn't always work. The HK radio is just poorly designed and has a lot of flaws.
If you are persistent in your claims of defective units to the dealer and to the moco in writing , it can be persued via a impartial dispute settlement via the Magnuson-moss act under warranty under the two implied sections that the MOCO can NOT void out.
I'm taking that approach on the crappy air temp gauge.
will keep you all posted on what happens.

In order to get the max songs on a mp3 disc you need to burn data/mp3. Not all disc will work on the H&K radio. They are not real picky but use a disc that is for data/music. I get 110-130 songs per disc and haven't had a problem except once, it was a music only disc.
Glad you got it fixed.

I updated the firmware on my friends 06 StreetGlide and now it also shows the song titles. I have never had any issue playing my Mp3, I can get about 160 songs per CD.

I know this a little off topic but how do you get 150 mp3's on a single disc?
First of all the songs have to be in MP3 format. When you burn the songs to a disk they have to burned as data not music. Also it is helpfull if you burn them at a slower speed. I can get away with 16x. If I burn them any faster they can be used only in my wifes car.
Also some HK radios are brand specfic for the cd/r media. I have used several brands in mine though. I have disks with over 150 songs on one disk. It depends on the length and file size of the songs. I have v8.19 on my HK now and it shows the title of the song also. The wife's car shows the title, artist and length of the track. Her car cost me less to buy than the Harley and has the standard sound system in it. I wonder if the advanced sound system in a Hyundai cooks breakfast also. LOL
