02 RKC shudders at about 2000 RPM
Hi All
The shudder shakes the whole bike when the engine rpm passes through 2000 RPM slowing down and speeding up. At first I thought it was a warped brake rotor, but I can duplicate it at cruise speed by pulling in the clutch and letting off throttle. I found I can hold the bike in the shudder while driving 18 mph in second gear. If I speed up or slow down, it fades away in about 3 MPH. I don't have a tach, so I don't know the exact rpm.
Any ideas?
Thanks ahead for your help.

A close visual will probably tell.... but the dealer will cover it under warranty if you're still covered... I have heard of dealers replacing them after the warranty for no charge or just the labor cost... there was some kind of a problem with them in the past but know what years were affected......Good Luck !!

Which motor mounts are the offenders? The torsion bar in the front or the mounts in the back? My '04 has got a little shake, too. I figured it was a motor mount needing re-torque. I'm going to do a full re-torque of all major components including the Swing-Arm nut the next Time I work on it to replace the Fork Oil.
BTW, if I don't have to re-pack the Neck Bearings, like the manual says, I guess I don't have to replace the Fork Oil at 20K miles either, huh? I'm sure the oil the MoCo put in them during assembly is good enough for the next 40 or 50 K? Right cwilks.
Phucking moron!
