Default Going back to stock mufflers maybe?

I am thinking of going back to stock mufflers on my carbed 05 FLHTC.
It has been bored to 95"
has 21G cams
Hammerhead Stage 1 ported heads
SE breather with K&N filter
SE II Slipons

It pulls like a frieght train and runs great. Getting about 40 mpg.
I love everything about it including the sound, but on longer rides the sound gets irritating especially for the wife since sitting on the back she is closer to the exhaust. After a while it gets to me too.
If I were to put my stock slipons back on I realize I will be giving up some performance but my concern is will I need to rejet the carb? If I understand things right it will actually run richer, is that the case? I have also heard that it will increase my lower end torque but drop hp and torque at top end. Is this right?

Why don't you just install a Supertrap 2 into1? That will quiet things down a bit and likely increase your power a couple points. There are very smooth sounding pipes. Just ask Steve [maineultraclassic] as he has had one of them on his a time or two before his current pipe.

A quiet performance pipe is the best answer.

D&D FatCat w/Quiet Baffle
SuperTrapp 2 into 1
etc

I have straight pipes as well, and the wife also complains about the sound on a longer ride. We got ear plugs as a freebie when I bought a shirt once, and have no idea where they are, LOL.

I am curious to know the answer to this, as well. If for some reason I need to put the stock exhaust back on (noise law), will I have to rejet my carb on a stage 1 88"?

If you want to stay slip on then those S&S spo's are pretty quiet and are supposed to be performance mined...just need a few days to get used to the width of them.

ha
This is another concern of mine.

I also know I could go to another pipe like Supertrap 2 to 1 but I don't care for a 2 to 1 on a bagger not to mention the cost. (Thats just me) I also thought the SE II's were one of the quieter performance pipes.
I have also thought of going to a Fulsac recored muffler but I have never heard my bike with stock mufflers, since I had the dealer put on the SE II before delivery.
Can anyone tell me how much performance I will more than likely lose and I will have to rejet carb if I try the stock slipons, or will it just run a little on the rich side. Thanks for all the replies.
