My 06 Ultra will play CD's both store bought and burned.
I have nothing but problems trying to play a burned MP3 Cd
I burned a few for a roadtrip and nothing. I have had the stereo lock up a few times when I tried to play the MP3 CD.
MY 5k service is due and I want to have them replace my stereo

Here is another thread that may provide some help with MP3 and the HK radio...

2005's won't play mp3's as you can see. Gotta buy an external one.
I got the OEM HD Roadtec one as seen below and hard wired the power and line out pluggedinto the aux input of the '05 radio. Holds a MAX of ~100 songs on a 1 gig card - cannot go more even with a 2 or 4 gig card which sucks.
No complaints here with volume with - FOUR HOGTUNES - actually TOO LOUD - even on the highway!!!

I have a 2005 Electra Glide Classic with the stock radio/CD player. Although it has a MP3 aux input I would like to play MP3 files burned on a CD like I do in my truck. I heard that Harley came out with a CD player that will read MP3's on the 2007 models. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know if I can pull out my 05 radio and replace it with a 07 radio that plays MP3's and still use factory controls?
Thanks in advance.

There's a bit more to it than just throwing an 06 and up HK radio in an 05 chassis and calling it good.
The speakers are different impedance, the wiring harness is different, etc.
It would be infinitely cheaper to buy an mp3 player and plug into the aux.
I have an 06 and it plays mp3 discs just fine.
