Default Rear Shocks Rebuildable???

2004 RK Custom - Sunday after a ride, I noticed oil on the left side muffler and saddlebag. Appears the left rear shock blew the seal, hence the oil mess. Can these be rebuilt? Does H-D make a rebuild kit, and has anyone done this? Big job, or not worth the effort. Probably should just replace with aftermarket parts, but a little short on cash at the moment. Thanks for the help.

! There is no Harley P/N as I did the research earlier for another posting. Short on cash than I know I cannot sell you anything, however, it never hurts to window shop. New on the market, Please hit the Loto and come back & see me, Hell, come on over & let us invest in prostitutes and cheep liquor! LINK: http://motorcyclemetal.com/gpage8.html Bunny did this for me in Sturgis. She did it for the fun of it and for free!

No rebuild... just new shock(s). It might be worth checking the hoses.

If ya'd like a set of Progressive 440's (std length) w/heavy springs, I'll gladly make ya a nice deal on a some that I have on the shelf in my garage...

PHILM?? Why do you have the 440's on the shelf? What are you looking to get for them? Heres my riding situation, me and wife togther weigh about 550, if we add gear +. Bike is a 07 Ultra, I've pretty much had it with the factory shocks, looking at prog 416's and have considered the recent posting about draining the shock oil and refilling with a heaveier weight oil for better dampening.

What about the HD440's?

Get with Cliff he has rebuilt the rear shocks on our beloved H-D'sand yes they can be rebuilt and have new seals re-installed...Not sure of the price though...he might be able to send you in the right direction in your neck of the woods or atleast give you info on what to ask and who would possibly be able to do it...

Like Phil said be sure and check the air lines...
