Default Electriglide classic vs Streetglide

Isn't an EGC the same as a Sreetglide less the bigger seat and tour pack. I like the SG but the wife and I are pretty serious tourers. The two bikes are comperable in price. If I put the tour pack on the SG I'm well over the price of an EG. Pros and cons on these two bikes please.

SG is 1" Lower in the rear - EGC will give you a much better ride... 2-Up for sure!!

Street Glide has shorter shocks, no back rest, no spot lights, no saddlebag guards, less chrome.
Just depends what your looking for. The two are similar, just different looks and maybe a little different ride due to Street setting lower. I liked both bikes so I went with EG Standard with back rest, radio and cruise. Basicaly I saved about 1000-1500 bucks off Classicdoing away with the trip trunk and some chrome.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought an Ultra instead of an SG....

Take them both for a test ride ... with your wife. I know which one you'll take home.

I faced the same choice and went with the Street Glide. It was simply a matter if style and I prefer the SG, the looksjust do it for me. I just dont get the same feel from the EG Classic although I suspect the rear suspension on the EGC will be better for two up touring.

It's a beaten-to-death comparison, but really simple...if you are serious "Tourers" like you say, then it's really a no-brainer...E-Glide Classic hands down. Better ride, more storage, more lighting, better seat, more protection for the bike. Street Glide is a stripped-down version of the Classic.

If its just you SG. But nothing is better 2 up then the ultra. $200 get the quick release tour pak and you got a SG

I think to go detachable, it's more than 200, not to split hairs. I was quoted close to 500 bucks with labor and whatever other little parts or modifications needed to fit the hardware.

The EGC will be a better choice for you. It's much cheaper to take off the things you don't want or make it detacahble than it is to add the tour pak and better seat to the SG.
