Yet Another 360 Brake Problem...

RE: Yet Another 360 Brake Problem...
i was the first one with a 360, i ran it hard and gave that thing a good test...i started off with dot 5, it gel'd and then cleaned it all, installed dot 4....it always squeaked when i applied the brakes....i sanded the pads, got better but back again...i took it on long rides all loaded up and had a failure...i watched and used this brake like a tester should....Bart is my friend, he knew i'd give it hell, he also knew it wouldnt bother me if it was didnt work....he sent me a PM 6 with a 11.5" rotor and man it looks great...bolted right up....stops as good as the stock duals with floaters(what i was running)....IMO, the 360 does not dissipate heat on the larger tour bikes as well as needed which causes fade and ultimately failure...my piston had the seal melted inside the caliper which held it against the rotor and burnt it up....but not before it dragged horribly for several hundred miles....Bart has racked his brain with the BW folks on all possible scenarios...it still has problems on our heavy baggers...the dual may stop better but will it squeal and act stupid, who knows....at a grand a piece yall can find out....i would suggest if you buy one to get it or anything else from Bart as he WILL take care of any problem....and i stand ready to test the next new deal on the mkt....it took quite a while for the thing to finally get my goat but while riding the BRP with clients and i had to borrow a jack from a motorist to field strip the unit i was done...rode the rest of the trip with no front brake.....i wont give up my PM6, it is the $hit ....Bart is too

Is this a fact as many of these resellers on this site swear by them. I am hopping these will work out. I was ready to buy a pair for my next build. I see you on many posts over a long time. Do you think this system will work out and stop as well as a good pair of 6-piston / 320 mm rotors on a road King? Thanks as I value your opinion.

I am not sure who you are referring to here, as you are seeing the list of people who have installed the 360 brake in this post, and most have pulled it off and have changed over to a PM setup. I am just a bit behind the curve due to other projects and I am also hard headed.
I am also being contacted by companies outside HDForums.com asking about this product who have seen my bike, because of the horror stories that they are hearing about the brake. They don't trust them either. Like Bart and everyone else have stated maybe a later they will have a good product, but my personal opinion is that they used us for R&D and that later may be to late as they have lost a lot of trust in the community.
Just my .02 cents.

I was hoping for a solution that lessened rotating mass. I use my bikes for handling. Presently I am building another light weight, high horsepower FL for myself. I show my products on my bikes that travel throughout the motorcycling community ie: national magazine advertisements, rallies, bike nights where I put on demo's et al..
I have heard (and read in the trade magazines) from many in the past that these brakes are fade resistance, much better at stopping than the convention brakes, going to be used on the Superbike Circuit, & naturally smaller in diameter (size of the hub) so no rotating mass to start or slow down. I do not make my bikes for looking at so appearances are secondary at best. I had been watching the developments of this product for over 1 1/2 years. Sorry it did not work out for you.
On this site, many have given a glowing report on performance. With every product there are mistakes and improvements. Rushing a product to market before true testing is completed, can be devastating for any company. The most important part is no one got hurt as a front wheel lockup could be fatalwhen parts jam. I guess maybe time will tell how this product plays out. I shall watch for developing posts in hopes this works out in the end. Thank you again jskwarek for your input & time.

RE: Yet Another 360 Brake Problem...
I have bitten the bullet and asked Hogpro if i can get out of the deal for the 360brake and upgrade to dual 6 piston and 13.5' rotors.
Looking at doing a custom bagger next year and will look at the 360 option then. Product has to many things going for it- that my hope anyway.
