I saw a blurb in a magazine (I believe Enthusiast) that the 08 radios had a fuel mileage countdown feature on the LCD. I am assuming that is on the radio. Does anyone know if that is backward compatible to the 07 radio? Also, can someone check their 08 radio and see what version of software is coming on it from the factory?

It's a function of the odometer, not the radio.

 

I have an 08 SG. There is a fuel mileage countdown. It is on the radio display. I will check the software whenI get home... if someone doesn't get it to you earlier.

 

Thanks! I am hoping that since it's all electronics and the bike probably really doesn't know what the countdown is that it can be somewhat programmed - giving us 07 owners some benefit.

 

On my '08 Ultra, this is displayed on the odometer not the radio.

 

How do you bring up the display on the radio? So far all I've seen it on is the odometer on my '08 Ultra.

 

I also read that the countdown was on the radio display (I think in the latest Enthusiast magazine). I have an '07 Ultra, but I would also be interested to know if this is an upgrade of some kind.

 

You '08 guys are unbelieveable! First you have the extra gallon in the tank. Now you have to have a countdown to empty? What's next, a buzzer to remind you its bingo night at the old folks home or a flashing light to let you know its time to pee? I thought the clutch safety switch on the '07's was bad enough but geesh! LOL!

I had the mileage to empty on my V-Rod. Nice to have if it's accurate. Hell if the countdown gage on the '08's is as accurate as my fuel gage on my SG then it's worthless. I just go by my odometer...
