I do NOT have a clutch safty switchon my 08 RG, don't ask how I know. I will say that IF you did start the bike in gear and you grabbed a big handfull of gas and just maybe the tire let loose, that you might be able to claim to the boys that you ment to do it

Well, I did have a 550 Yamaha and too drunk to drive one day. Started it in gear and it caught. I remember standing there holding the bike as the front wheel left the ground and I still holding the handlebars. Finally I let go reached down turned it off, picked it up and left.

 

Yes its on the Speedo not the radio, and yes its accurate, I like it alot, its realeasy to plan fuel stops....If someone does not want it, its simple you do not use it and can simplystare at your trip A or B or alternativelyyour actual totalmileage, Or watch your half assed accurate fogged upgauge needle dropand plan gas that way. But yes I smell some envy in here! If its complex and not stupid simple, and yah cannot fix it with pliers, bailing wire, or JB Weld,then its stupid?And the Moco isstupid too.......Pretty funny all into itself! LOL's!

 

I have an 08 RG and my countdown feature is on the odometer not the radio. I haven't seen or heard of any on the radio that is news to me.

 

My 08 SG has it on the odometer.

 

The LCD countdown is on the speedometer. two trip logs then reserve. It seems very accurate, although it only counts down the first 5 gallons. The reserve light comes on after 0 countdown and you have another 50 miles, or so.

Don't know radio software version. Tell me where to look and I'll look it up. I have the SE UC so mine comes with GPS, XM, CD, WB, CB, INT, and AM/FM.

My '08 SG is also on the odometer. Suprisingly, very accurate.

So how is it some are on the radio and some on the odometer?

 

A writer mistake....Obviously he does not personally own an 08....And is reporting things in an article that are not quite on the money. Don't believe everything you read....This is a good example of it.

 

I went back to the article and it just says lcd display. I ASSumed it was on the radio since the radio seemed to have some smarts built into it.

But in the end, this thread gave me a big laugh and isn't that all that matters?
