Should I get High Comp Heads?

RE: Should I get High Comp Heads?
Giving out static compression numbers is really kind of meaningless. What matters is the running compression of the cam and the powerband the user would like to obtain. I have built street engines with almost 12:1 static compression ratio where the ccp would be acceptable for pump gas and also have built engines with compression well under 10:1 where ccp was much higher due to the short duration low overlap cams.
So I say before giving out any recommendations, BaggerDave should tell us where he wants to powerband of his engine, and how much power he is looking for from his engine.

Ok, you guys got to me!
I just called the dealer and said DON'T do the heads. Instead I am switching out my SE 203 cam for an Andrews 37G.
Now don't change my mind again! [:@]

This is same cam I used and it worked great untill I raised my compression to 10 and 1/4 to 1. Then it pinged. Cam works great otherwise. In my opinion it's the best cam out there. The gear drive qets quieter after you get some miles on it. I at first didn't like it but it quieted down and now it is fine. One more suggestion if you have the money is to put in a Fueling oil pump at the same time. Additional labor is minimal being you are already in there. It will make engine live longer and makes bike run a little cooler.
