Default Rear Brake Problem Finally Resolved!

I posted this over in the technical areas also, but I thought some of you guys might get a kick our of this too.

I had posted a while back about problems with the rear brake on my SG. I noticed that when I would ride the bike at first I had little or no rear breaking power. Once I rode it awhile the brake came back.

Tried bleeding the line twice, had the dealership checkfor brake line issues..always fine by then but the next day, same darn problem.. So I had been scratching my head about this the past 6 weeks.

Finally took it back up to the dealership today and asked them to check it again. It had sat there a while before the tech test rode it - and he could also tell the rear brake was weak.

They finally figured out the problem and replaced one of my air shocks. Brakes are great now - problem solved!

Anyone wanna take a stab at what it was?

BINGO!

It was a very small leak with no indication in my garage. I could also ride all day and if the bike was upright the leak wouldn't hit the rotor. It was only whenit was parked for some time on the sidestand that the angle caused the drip to fall on the rotor..and with the saddlebags on you couldn't even see it.

They replaced the shock under warranty today and it's perfect now. Kudos to the service guys at Greensboro Harley Davidson.

ringing in late here but scrolled past every thing without reading the answers.
My guess is hyydraulic oil in the shock was dripping on the pads.
Have noticed it happens when you add or release air to them, so always put a towel under the fitting when doing it.
My 06 EG came from factory with air fitting on left side. Think maybe the MOCO finally got a clue?
