You can...........but I wouldnt.

Run it in the engine and tranny if you want.
In the primary, stick with an oil made for it, like HD primary oil.

Me?
Engine - Syn III
Primary - HD primary
Tranny - Mobil one 75w90.

Smooth as silk.

short answer? yes

I'd use gear oil (either Synthetic Gear Mobil I 75-90W or Mobil I 75-140W) in the transmission and I personally did not like the Synthetic Mobil I V-Twin in my primary either.

Yes, but I use V-twin in the crankcase, formula+ in the primary, and Mobil one 75w-90 gear oil in the trans.

20-50 in primary and motor is fine, but you need 75-90 or more in tranny, 20-50 will work but harley doesnt even reccomend it anymore they went back with formula + which is a 50 weight but with other shear agents added.

I'd run the Mobil 1 75W-90 gear oil in the tranny. Costs the same as a quart of the 20W-50.
