RE: Moble 1 20w50 in all 3 holes?
I like the following in my '07:
Mobil 1 20W-50 V-twinin engine and primary
Mobil 1 90/140 synthetic trans in transmission.
I just put 75/90 in my trans for the fall, but prefer the 90/140 - very smooth and quiet.

Yes, but I use V-twin in the crankcase, formula+ in the primary, and Mobil one 75w-90 gear oil in the trans.
Same here.

I'm with NCCop on this one. I've used Mobil 1 20w50 in Eng and Primary and 75/90 in tranny for the last couple of oil changes. No problems and the bike runs cooler and more quiet. Shifting is also easier.

Is the Mobil 1 75/90 a synthetic blend?
Thanks,

Are you asking if it is a blend of full syn oils or a semi-syn like HD's Syn 3 ?
It is a full syn oil.

Not to be a smart *** here, but why not just stick with factory recommendations?
Seriously. I'd just like to know.

The syn in the motor gives you longer life and better viscosity at higher temps.
The heavier weight in the tranny gives you more shock resistance and shear resistance.
The Formula + in the primary just does what it is designed to do.
