Gotta get me a trailer

RE: Gotta get me a trailer
I agree completely with the TexasRedneck! When Mama's happy, I'm happy. Besides... I'm going to throw my stuff in there too. I'm on the search for a Bushtec myself. I tend to pack heavy and catch some grief with my riding mates... Of course I'm also the first one they run to when they need something 'cause I usually have it! I would rather haul it and not need it than need it and not have it. Good luck in your search. JW

HA!! You've NEVER seen mah better half on vacation! Thar's reservations out west whar they know her by SIGHT - literally!! She's the Love of My Life, but she don't pack light!
Then again...let's look at our travel pack-out...35mm camera & tripod, digital camera, rain gear, chaps, leather AND mesh jackets (we hit temperatures from the 30's ta the 100's), coffee percolator & coffee/creamer/sugar, first aid kit, tool kit, full bike cover, 4 1-liter fuel cells, rags & cleanin' gear (in case the bike gits REAL bad), an' enough clothin' so we only stop every 5-6 days fer laundry. Wife likes to "look good" fer me - that means a bag fulla war paint an' hair dryer, etc.
We HAVE packed it all onto jest the bike by leavin' some of the stuff out, but then it's a hassle with worryin' that stuff shipped back will (1) git ta the house, an' (2) still be thar when we git back. This way, we jest pack it into the trailer an' go on our way.
Of course, havin' the ice chest on the front of the trailer means we've ALWAYS got cold drinks at hand!

It's always RaftGyde that lays out too much stuff, then I politely pull half of it out and put it away!

The original poster stated:
"Only packing 2 change of under cloths ,2 shirts a peice and a hygiene kit and that pretty much does itfor the tour pack."
I have a question...
how friggin big is that hygine kit?
You can roll up your undies and a shirt into the size of a shoe. Damned if I ever seen a shaving kit that is as big as a tour pack. Must be mama's time of the month and the pack if fulls of rags.

A friend of mine has this one. He is happy with it. I am considering it if I can ever talk the wife into a long (10-14 day) trip. It is the best priced trailer I could find after searching at $595 plus shipping. We are able to pack for 4 days without doing laundry as it stands now with the ultra and a duffle bag in the tour pack rack.

And I'm calling it not! Well, except for the "usually" part. That was a long time ago. We have it down to a science now, don't we?

RE: Gotta get me a trailer
I am getting set up to pull a trailer. I havea bushtech reciever hitch installed on the bike, and it came with a isolator for the wiring. I followed the directions to a tee on how to install the thing and the wires on the output side are *** backwards. I think the hitch is great since you can remove it but I am not to hip on the isolator.I thought it should be on there since my 04 has cruise and the alarm. Has anyone installed on of these ? It has your standard brown green white and yellow wires plus a blue wire on the output side. The blue wire is the brake lights.I had all the trailer lights workin but the brake lights. What really has me pissed is they said to install the thing on the main harness side of where the rear harness plugs in and now i have compromised the wires on the main harness. I think it shoulda been on the other side. I can use heat shrink tubing and cover up what is done but I don't like the idea. Anybody got any input for me ? [:@]
