I think you're asking how do I solve the heat problem on an 07, and does it have to do with "exhaust", "air filter" and that you do not want to touch the fuel injection.

You need to change the fuel injection to run richer, (air fuel ratio) and to do that you need to take control of the Electronic Fuel Injection system. It isn't as hard as it seems. You need to add pipes and a high flow air filter to get it to breather better and then, use a EFI device such as a PowerCommander to take control over the fuel-injection and richen up the mix.
