I busted out a 5"x6" chunk, so it needs more than Superglue! haha....The 3M-5883 isn't here yet, but I scored a "new"/never mounted, HD Custom paintset Fairing and matching tank in "Frostbite". The lower color is Vivid Black, so I think they'll look great on my black bike......and I was tired of the "Peace Officer Special Edition" look anyway. It makes people nervous in certain...ah,"situations". lol I'm still going to try the 3M on the Inner fairing and to fix a Tourpac crack. If it doesn't come out right, I'll have an excuse to get a chopped tourpac.

Take the fairing off, only a few screws. Scuff the area of the crack and mix up some 20 min epoxy of your choice. Apply to the cracked area and let set over night. Run down to the Harley dealer and pickup the chrome trim piece to hide the crack. Boom all fixed.

I fixed the threaded hole with the Harley threaded insert. worked great. I also had one of the posts that hold the fairing onto the bike break off. Tried epoxy and melting the plastic back together...not so great, Had to buy a new fairing.

I have been a plastic fabricator for years. Weld-on is a very good brand of plastic glue. They make abs pipe solvent you can buy at any hardware store. It melts the parts together rather being an add on glue. If there is room, a thin piece of abs on the back side will make it much stronger. Any add on style glue can pop off later. Just be carefull not to get it on the paint. Superglue worked on my threaded inserts. I ran a tap through them afterwards

I dig those flames on the seat and the matching pinstripes Traveler ! The paintset I almost bought would'nt fit ("08 tank is diff from my '07), so I got a used fairing to repaint, the 3M stuff to repair my inner fairing and a little work to do. I'm not really saving any money though.because I bought over a thousand bucks of custom parts while shopping around for a fairing. haha!
