while on my most recent trip to the Vermont area.... i thought id throw a few things out and see whatcha thought bout em....


im planning on a 2 month trip next summer

guys that are retired that do alot of traveling

guys that do long trips...


lets say im headed to califrnia to hit rt 1... i live in pittsburgh pa...

i decide im gonna run the lower states out say umm rt 40 .... plan on first stop in little rock.....say new stop im new mexico(change that to texas to ride a day or so with philm) si you get the picture... now we all know our home turf better than a traveler so.... maybe we could set up a directory with name/location/contact/ and what that particular person can do for you... ie take you on good roads in there are, provide a place for a tent, spare bedroom, local places for dinner and such... now of course not everyone could do all of the above but a friendly dinner while in town is cool...

anywho you get the idea.... one could plan a trip across the country hitting those local backroads that only locals know, meet knew people and have a blast....i know i would participate and help as much as i could....

think we could make something like this work?

 

The GWRRA National Directory (Yearly Pub at least they did years ago... Yea was a member for over 16 years)... Had infor on it's members & what they could offer (ie... Room\Sleeping Arrangements\Camping Area - Mech Repairs - Trailer\Bike Towing - Tools Help and so on ans so on)
May come in handy - Ya Just Never Know... Could include "BIKER FRIENDLY" loactions and more...

YEAHH PAPPY.... if we could get a big enough data base, we could get books made so you would have em with you when on the road... plus i just like meetin peeps.... maybe ill drink a beer with you in cali when i get there next year....

Love the idea, it would be cool to come out to PA or you come to MO and we share the places that we like to ride, however I'm thinking most people would not be hip to the idea. People aren't that trusting these days.
First of all, we are on the internet......We can be whatever we want here......Without knowing me, would you invite me to your house? Offer to meet me and show me around? Let me crash on your couch?
I do think it's a great idea, however the world does not seem to spin that way these days. At least in my eyes. However shoot me a pm and let me know when you're coming through St. Louie and I'll meet ya for a beer, I'll even buy........Be careful though, the 9mm will be loaded.....Just jokin

i dont think it would be as bad as you think.... we can build it here but it could be done to take safe measures.... like a hidden page for secure memebers to view and keep trolls out... a private page i was on you had to be referred by 2 current members..the net can be bad and good.... and you dont have to give any info or just some, as far as whats listed....

guess we got to see what the site admin feels bout it.... but ill do my part to do it...

scenerio.... i wanna go to cali... i see so cal on the list, i pm him with a phone number... we bs a little... we figure the dates ill be in town, it works for him.... i arrive, call him meet up for dinner/beer stay at his place or he found me a cheap hotel, next morning we do some riding i may not of seen... made a new friend, road, drank beer and eat some food.... great times, new people....
