Blinking red usually means not connected. To find out for sure turn on your ignition and it should go solid red due to draw of the lights. If noe there is a connection problem.

Charging should be solid red. Charged should be solid green. 80% will be red with flashing green or just flashing green depending on the model you have. All of these color codes should be in the information that came with it and on the unit itself.

Ride Safe,

Mike

Blinking not charging - check connection
If connections o.k. - return it. It's not supposed to be this complicated

Take the dang thing off, throw it in the trash and just ride the bike.
You did buy it to ride it didn't you?

If you ride at least once a month for fifteen miles the battery will stay fully charged.
The parasitic charge from the radio memory is so minimal you won't notice the draw on a good battery after a couple weeks setting.

Check the connectors on the pigtail. If it's new take it back and get another, with instructions.

The pigtail is reversed or the fuse in the pigtail is blown. Charger is not connected to battery. If connection and fuse are good take it back.

Agree, blinking red is NOT charging. I put one on both my bikes and only use them during winter storage months. It is hard to ride them with a foot of snow on the ground.

....I gotta agree....I bought one years ago..turns out to be the most useless purchase I ever made for the bike...mine can sit for the whole winter(3 months), and fire right up in April...and yes, I get 4-5 years out of the battery...HD put a charging system on the bike for a reason...[8D]
