Red lift here. Also worked great under the wifes van to drop her sub frame and engine so I could change the rack and pinion.

Well, if we're talking jacks, not lift tables, I have the red Sears lift and it works fine. It's a bit shaky, but once you get past that it does the job. I paid well under $100 for it. Now, if I were buying a lift today I would strongly consider the J&S lift, especially after seeing the video at their website.

I see the nice stability demos on the J&S website, but what makes their jacks more stable than the Sears ones?

Are they wider? Is it just tighter construction?

I really like the PitBull models. I am amazed at the stability. Nice choice.

I built mine about 8 years ago, before you could find them everywhere for <$100. Mine is built from real steel (1-1/2" Square Tubing and 1-1/2" Angle Iron) and had reamed bushings for all the pivot points, wide stance and looks a lot like J&S. (Never seen a J&S until yesterday). Anyway, the bushings making a tighter fit and the cross bars help tremendously. Mine doesn't shake or anything either, but it's one heavy sucker to tote around. It weighs in around 150# if I had to guess.I keep it in my big shop and then I have a cheap HF in my game room. The HF scares the hell out of me and allows the bike to wiggle but in reality it's not going to go anywhere either.

See the two cross braces on the J&S? That makes for tremendous support to keep it from flexing side to side.

Purchased the Craftsman Yellow Jack a few days ago.. Nice looking product but I really feel uncomfortable with it, Wobbles too much, afraid the bike is not properly balanced as the front wheel comes up first. Hyd pump looks small meaning just a few simple "tiny O rings" are lifting 800 pounds, although rated for 1500 lbs. Jack comes down fast. Wheels are nice and wide however and moving the bike while jacked up should be easy but the wobble scares the crap out of me... Just can't say I can trust a $149.00 jack lifting a 20,000 Ultra . Thinking about returning it to Sears and spring for the J&S Bigwheel Lift. Cost more but if can afford an Ultra I can afford a stable safe (in my opnion) jack.

I could be over-killing this jack issue as I've read many are happy with it. At least I haven't read of any bikes tipping over!
