One thang ta consider....cost ta replace.
Yep, a bit of cost there, I'm sure, but hopefully significant savings to the old body!!

IF you can stand to be on the Honda site long enuf, then take a look at the Goldwing airbag video. The rider dummy was deflected vertically. Heard locally that Honda has discontinued air bags because of false triggering. Certainly, a face full of airbag, unannounced, would be a tragedy. I believe a properly designed bag could reduce injury when considering front impact collisions. Regards, Joe

I think Honda should be applauded for their efforts leading the way in safety innovation.

yea I'm serious, they are pretty damn cool. Not for sale in the US as of yet (go figure). it protects the upper body, inflates in less than a second.

I have seen several videos and had several discussions regarding the air bag in a motorcycle collision investigative course. It is a neat idea but the problem I see is that those tests were under strict control conditions. The "dummy" sitting on the bike did not get ejected over the handle bars. Buthe was positioned so he was sitting perfectly prior to the head on collision. Would he not be ejected over the bars if he was off center a bit or the collision was not 100% head on?To many variables for me to buy into the idea.

Hope ol' Ralph Nader dosn't get wind of it, they will be mandatory by 09...... Hell, the car industry is just now starting to get them right. I would rather just keep taking the rider courses to keep me safe......
