Default Front wheel "hums" when in tight turns..

I have noticed since my bike was new that my front wheel "hums" when taking high speed turns like when exiting the freeway and banking the bike into a turn...I had the stealership look at it but they said they could not find anything wrong...they said that they found that the brake pads and assymbly was "really dirty" so they squirted brake cleaner on my brakes...I think its comming from the front wheelbearing...which I told them but they did not check...

Any experience with this one fellow HDFORM'ers?

Mine hums to the Bee Gee's in turns. Now I only ride on straight roads.

Seriously though, I think I get a hum also. But I always figured it was my imagination. Probably is.

How many miles on the tire? Does it have any cupping?

I also notice a high pitched hum from my front wheel when turning, I have pulled and cleaned the caliper pistons for the brake squeal and everything checks out fine so I just ride it. The bike had spokes for the first 12k and recently switched to 2007 FLHX mags with 20 miles on them and noticed it was louder and resonated more, kind of like a bell sound or when you run a finger around the rim of a wine glass. I recall reading where someone filled the voids behind the rotor with silicone to dampen it but it does not bug me that much to take it apart to try, maybe when I switch to the spokes again while polishing the mags.....

Don't worry about a bearing locking up, if it seizes it will still turn but will drag. You will have a wobble and it will probably scream at you, but you'll have warning before anything gets critical. Don't ask how I know!

I noticed the same thing on mine when I bought it.
I was under the impression that with the bike on an angle and the tread on the edge of the tire, you can hear it in the corners. My brothers bike does the same.
Just a guess.

It's not a bad bearing.....It's the tread pattern on the edge of the tire (which is different from the center tread) humming as you lean into a turn. It's only noticeable at higher speeds, and is nothing to worry about.
