If everyone would accept responsibility for their actions this would be a much better world instead of always looking for someone to blame, but that is a whole 'nother topic.
Astro, you are correct, the J&M employee should take the responsibility to make SURE that the customer is made happy by doing every thing in his power, NOT telling the CUSTOMER it's a ups problem not theres.

I work in wholesale parts and if a shipment goes missing, UPS requires the SHIPPER to intiate an investigation, not the customer. To say that it is up to the customer to deal with a problem is total BS! We pride ourselves here on great customer service, and we would never treat a customer in this way. Stuff gets lost, it happens and we have to deal with it. You pay me for goods, it's up to me to get those goods to you, end of story. It can take up to two weeks for UPS to deal with a claim, can't get around that. I had a problem with a product once that I had bought. Took it back to the store I got it from and they told me it wasn't their problem, I'd have to take it up with the manufacturer! Told them that I didn't but it from the damn manufacturer, I bought it from them! Didn't get anywhere, but made sure everyone in that store that day heard about the company's policy. Word of mouth can do you a world of good or bad, I hope you get some satisfaction from J & M. Maybe you just spoke to a know nothing. I can't believe they would just fob you off. Good luck!
The most intelligent post of this thread. +1

I ship anywhere from 500 - 1000 packages a day and they are all my responsiblity.

Same here, I have purchased 2 sets of speakers for J&M and have nothing but postive words for their service and product. If you buy a computer from Dell and the shipping company ships it to the wrong address, Dell will not send you a new computer until they make a claim against the shipper. You have to wait for them to find where the product is the "supply system." I think your blaming the wrong company... but send them back, they will refund your money and you can buy something else if you are that unhappy.

Man,some of you guys are so eager to flame anyone. So UPS does not make error's?
We have only heard one side of the story and it sounds like this guy must of have read the post about the JBL's AFTER he ordered the J&M's and now he's on the band wagon to hang John and everyone else at J&M!
Well I have the J&M's and have no complaints.
And being pissed about not being able to ride because the fairing is off is a bunch of ****.Takes maybe a half hour to put the damn thing back on?

Ok Now I have spoken to them again, J & M and they track down the speakers which are now in transit from somewhere up North to Atlanta. They said it should be here by the 17th, mean while I have my faring opened up and the old speakers out. So much for the weekend ride, should have waited until I had them in hand...and yea the are still sticking with the UPS thing. Who is John that everyone keeps speaking off?
Three points.
1) OK, someone screwed up in the shipping process/address.Promising to getthe product to the customer by the 17th is totally unacceptable. As the error was not the customer's,J&M or UPS should have seen to it that the package was redirectedvia overnight service to the customer, not send it on anotherthree to five day journey!
2)J&M may not have beenresponsible for the shipping error, however, scofield333 is the customer, and a dissatisfied one at that. There is a lot of bad press going around which is notgood forbusiness, at least in the short term. The customer reps at J&M apparently were notinstructedhow to take care of customer's problems effectively and efficiently. Employee training is evident!
3) Granted, we are all human and mistakes will happen, but the way mistakes are handled is the cornerstone of a good business. J&M's corrective action was totally irresponsible.John, even if thisdisaster is notJ&M's fault, you or someone needs to respond to this ASAP to put it to rest. As Ricky Ricardo would say.... "You got some `splaining to do, Lucy!"

I agree with smudge on this one.... I had a damaged package and the UPS instructions said either can initiate, but as soon as I did UPS would only deal with the shipper....even though I paid for the shipping. It is an absolute for the seller to work with a customer or the customer is dead in the water if the seller plays that type of game.... it does not take long to deciede who to never to do business with...yes a mistake can be made but it must also be corrected in a helpful way...

I'd almost bet we didn't see all of J&M's initial telephone response. "it's UPS's problem" is probably only the first of the response. I'll bet it was followed by "let us check on it" and then the rant came from the poster.

It appears that they found the problem. I wouldn't have removed the stock speakers until I had the replacements in hand.

This talk about packages being damaged! I sometimes think that UPS uses them as a step to reach that last package on the top of their shelf. Being in the manufacturing business I ship items out to dealers each day and at time they will get returned looking like someone has stepped on the package or tried ripping it open. I know they get tossed around, but some of the packages I have seen looks as if they were run over and then back over again. Again, give J&M John a chance (maybe be he is one vacation or personal leave). If this were me you were bashing I would take a little offense to this post and at least get the problem handled.... The sponsor's here deserve a little respect, they help keep this site going!!!!
