Default Chrome Front End

I'm thinking about having the H-D chrome front end package (part # 46335-04A) installed on my Road King. The local dealer says this is a five hour job. At $75 per hour, that's almost as much as the parts. Is this a reasonable time estimate for the installation?

If it's not 5 it's pretty close but it will be worth it. The chrome front end really dresses up a bike.

I had mine done over the winter as a service special. Got 20% off the parts and $100 off the labor. I forget the price, but it was very good. Ya gotta love the look of the chrome front end.

Just a thought for you. I just chromed my front end from my Road Glide. I bought a set of stock lower sliders and upper tins and then sent them off to Browns Plating and they did an outstanding job. Next I ordered a flush mount axle kit and finished it off with the Bad As Hell Fork Cap. Photo attached of the end result. As for time, I think it may be a bit on the high side. I am sure they go by the time stated for the task from the Moco when estimating and charging you. However, actual time I am sure is a bit less. If you go the route I did and need a set of lower slides and tins, shoot me a PM etc if you have any other questions. I am just personally not a big fan of Moco chrome due to past experiences.

DON'T FORGET the Polished Rotors and Lower Leg Bolts Chrome (I didn't have the calipers changed out just put a chrome insert in them)... Of course thats additional - My Dealer charged me 4hrs for all the above with the HD Ft Chrome Kit & I also had them install Progressive Lower Ft Springs as there was no additional labor charges

The front end was was already done when I bought my 2007 Ultra off of the showroom floor. It really dresses up the bike.

not a bad estimate from a dealer, i agree combine oit with tires, wheels brakes and maximize the labor cost. chrome wont get you homke but its tough to beat the look....dont forget the hand controls while you're at it!

Parts for my bike are around $250 at Zanottis and local indy will put em on for $120 but that doesn't include smooth axle, rotors, and badashell fork cap.
