Default 08 Exhaust

What are you 08 guys doing out there?? From what I gather, the 07 pipes will fit on the 08 Ultra, and I have already purchased a set up pipes. Install with no FuelPac/PCIII/T-Max/SERT/ect. ect. ect. From what I can figure out (but I am fairly slow sometimes) there are no aftermarket fuel tuners yet for 08. Am I gonna fudge it up running true duals with nothing else done? I want to eventually get the SE Stage 1 Kit, for the A/C, but I know for sure then you need a remap.

Am I missing something? how is everyone else doing the pipes for right now? Any assistance would be great, I don't want a fried engine.

well,,,, I had my supertrapp slipons off my 07sittin on the garage floor,, was waitin to see what peeps were doin , like your self,,, one day I said flock it,,went out and
put them on , as I did like the sound,,, anyways,, they slipped right on,, bike runs better,
no heat, no ping,, ALLS GOOD!
but if your going with the whole pipe set up, (duals,),, it might be a diff story!

I would not change the pipes until the fuel management systems are released. Hopefully early October!!!

With just slip-ons, so long as they don't change the shape of the torque curve too much, you should be just fine. Since going to dual pipes does change the torque curve shape it might be a little more problematic. But it likely won't be so far off that the ECU can't accommodate the difference for the short while you wait for the brain-change.

I put the SE A/C on and have to have the ecm reconfigured. I was told if I was going to do the full exhaust or even aftermarket slip ons I should wait for the race tuner to come out as this was a must. was told that the only thing i could do to change the exhaust was to put the Screamin eagle mufflers with out the tuner. I went a head and purchased the B&E superflow mufflers and just going to put them on anyways was told by Bob at B&E that I would not need to remap with these. just going to put them on as there is still no release date on the tuner.

I just did my 2008 Street Glide with V&H Big Shot Duals and SE air cleaner. Did the factory download for $150.00 and everything seems OK.

Will do a SERT when they are available.

The download adds more fuel when a free flowing breather is added. Without the download, those that have installed the breather risk damage to their engines. The download shouldn't be nessecary with just the addition of slip-ons,
