Not on a Road Glide....Leave the windshield ON and lift it up off the hooks.

Nope.
When I get the torx screws out (Size 27 I believe) and remove the turn signals, I stand straddle of the front fender lean over the fairing and grasp underneath from the front and lift and push slightly back to get it off the hooks.

When going back on be sure the wire harness is out of the way of the hooks, that is what makes it so hard to put back on.

I have done this enough times that I can remove or reinstall in minutes.

 

W/S can stay on. Once you are ready to lift it off reach around and unplug the headlights......Protect the fender

 

When you reinstall the outer fairing, be careful of those 6 torx screws, Do not over tighten them , they strip easy. Doc
