well i went to order the IDS from discount bikers and they wouldnt sell to me. they and i are in central fl and they wont under cut the local dealers. guess i understand but a heads up for anyone in fl area to use someone else

for the 14 dollar diff between them and zanotti it aint worth it. just thopught id give a heads up so's no one wasted thier time.

 

Order it fromZanotti and save yourself the sales tax.

 

He could have it shipped to my house. I would be glad to give it good test for a while.

BTW-anyone have the link for those two wrenches i need for the axle nuts?? already ordered a belt tension tool.

and just what am i missing on this job anyway. i looked at both siodes and it looks to me like the mufflesr have to come off-does the wheel really drop that far once on a jack??

 

axel requires 36mm wrench. Sears had the best prices. It is easier to retorque if you remove the right muffler. Use an open or box end on the left side. It is easier than it looks.

are ya talkin labor?? i got quoted 305.00 just for the part! besides, gotta take the plunge someday. have turned wrenhes off and on for 40 years. got no prob tackling anything on a car or truck but bikes have always intimidated me a little. tryin to keep the old adage" it's an engine. it dont know its in a _______ bike,boat,lwanmower,plane ect..." in my mind. bought a nice jack-change my fluids so may as well dive in. worst that can happen is call a tow trk and ride the wifes kawi til its fixed. LOL
