Not only dont use Rain-X, but dont ever use windex with amonia (sp). Windex will start to give you those little stress fractures around the mounting holes. Dont ask how I know.

It's not all that bad, www.clearviewshields.com They have better than the stock glass with more choices at a reasonable price. Glass is thicker for less flex and vibration, you can get it the same height or lower or higher, with a vent to reduce the low pressure buffeting.
+1 I just got the 8" w/ recurve and it works great and good quality.

sorry about your luck. I did the same thing at myrtle beach this fall. If you don't think it's getting cloudy look at car headlights at night. Besides, sounds like a good reason for a clearview.

harley makes a wipe that will give you the same effect except for the cloudiness . Just wont last as long before a reapplication is needed but works well. Comes in an orange.black plastic square container.
