Default Dropping my bike off tomorrow

Wouldn't you know it. My $3k tranny build just got better. It is now leaking fluid from the mainshaft seal. I'm leaving Sunday for a 2 wk school so I am dropping it off at Skips for them to repair it. I'm going to go ahead and also have them install a chrome inner primary cover, Wild1 0575 bars, braided cables and a HD premium oil cooler. Other than some custom calipers, this should complete my project build.

I tossed the idea around of getting a custom paint job but decided against it as black looks too damn good when cleaned up. Any other ideas?

Would any of your proposed tranny mods/repairs have an impact on your case v. Scooter Works?

Hate to bring that up, but don't want them to stick it to you anymore than the SOB's already have...

I will contact Scooter Works tomorrow to inform them of the leak. I would think they are responsible for making the repairs but due to the circumstances, I don't want them touching my bike. The last time they removed items without my authorization and God only knows how long they would take this time to finish it. I'm tired of not being able to ride.

Marine, that blows. Really. I hope it gets done, and it will be the end of any issues you are going to have. And as far as paint goes. Black is awesome all by itself. But you, and a lot of us feel the same way, which makes them almost blend into the others. Instead of going with a full on custom paint job, have you thought about going with a pin stripe? I have thought about a custom paint job, but feel as though I will never save enough coin to get it done. I can afford some pin stripe, though. So, I will probally be going this route (unless Santa is REALLY good to me this year.)LOL Just a thought.

Man, I really feel for you. I have followed your posts and like many I was anxiously awaiting the Dyno results way back when, then it started hitting the fan for you.I firmly believe the is a black cloud that follows some of us.I re powered my boat a few years back, with 370hp Cummins Diesels and ZF gear boxes. After 6 months and about 24K in attempted warranty repairs they finally had to warranty the motors.Got it all back together and they left a line loose on a gearbox, it blew up, seized and that had to be replaced.I had a new roof put on after a Hurricane 2 yrs ago. It cost twice what the insurance allowed, and it leaked. They "patched" it under warranty. leaked again, patched it, leaked. patched it again,it leaked. Just had it re-roofed at my expense last month to resolve and move on.Had a driveway poured 2 yrs ago, and it pooled water, contractor dug it up and re-poured it and it actually pitched back AT the garage so when it rained it flooded the garage.Third time it is just level, does not flood any more, but does not run off correctly either, and have to pressure clean monthly to avoid mildew. Arbitration with the contractor yielded a $2,800 refund from the contractor. Bought a 2007 RKC from the Dealer in Feb 07.I had it 4 1/2 months the dealer had it 45 days to attempt to fix a severe engine vibration.they never could and out of frustration I coughed up $1000,they gave me a new bike. I took it to a tuner about 300 mi from my House for a mild cam, SERT , pipe change, and dyno tune. Had some unavoidable mishaps and glitches and after 1800 mile and 3 trips to the Dyno , I am proud to announce I have a 2007 that runs like and absolute dream!! However, I can't ride the bike.In March 2006 I had a total knee replacement on the right knee, following surgery and rehabI had a noise in the knee and the joint was "loose", Dec 29, 2006, I had a revision to the replacement. Yep, was in the hospital New Years.Following re-hab I had a "clunk" in my knee when I walked, Like rolling over cracks in the sidewalk on roller skates, and my knee took a right turn if I sat in a chair and raised my leg. On August 31, I had yet another revision to the knee replacement, had the prothesis replaced and femur reshaped and I got out of the hospital Tuesday the 4th................now I am eating Vicodin like pistachio peanuts, yeah my knee hurts, but nothing like my right hip! Whatever happened to straighten out the knee now has my hip bone feeling like it wants to exit my side lika a compound fracture. So, well, does anyone feel better? Does misery love company? I am 60 and retired, I do not know what I would do If I was a young man, like ABNMARINE and they gave me a gun at work.....back to my original intent, good luck with your repairs Marine, and I hope those bastards at Scooter Works get what they deserve. And from a USN Viet Nam veteran, thanx for your service.
