Default Some interesting observations on 08 baggers

Talking to the techs today at my shop, I learned that to bleed the brakes they are saying it requires the digital tech. Also the retaining ring for the pivot pin on the front brake is no longer the same as the one for the clutch. The 08 uses the same part number as the 02 VRCSE2 and when you look it up, it says that it comes with the pin, but is part number 11615 for the ring. I thought it looked a little different.

I believe the brake bleeding issue is only with ABS. I am getting that on my Ultra which should deliver anytime now.

My biggest question is can you upgrade to a 21/18 setup with ABS

Isn't the HD digital tech a tool that communicates with the stock ECU? In that case, I wonder if the aftermarket ECUs will allow garage mechanics to bleed their own brakes...

I thought that pump and bleed way went out when the duel brake systems came out on autos. a $30 vacuum brake bleeding pump kit will take all the work out of it as well as not create any problems. imo Dan
