I was big for my age (13) and had a CB650 Custom that I rode to school for the first time on the last day of 8th grade. Everybody in the damn school was standing out front as I was leaving. This jackass decides to jump on the back like the Lone Ranger mounting his horse and over I went not knowing he was about to do it. You feel bad enough by yourself but with hundreds of witnesses all laughing at you it leaves quite an impression. I had an old lady pull out in front of me on the bike I had before that, a CB360, I locked the rear and slid over only to watch her drive by looking down at me with her blue hair like I was in her way! Old B!tch!

ahh, the hill again. Glad your ok btw, and the bike isn't that bad.

I live on a hill and the first few times it worried me. My street is one of those old style roads with no curbs so people park as close to the property as possible, but 2 cars can't drive at the same time up and down the hill without moving over to the "parking" space to let the other car go by.

I've gotten much better at making the u turn, but it's become a 3 point turn out of safety concerns. And the wife is never allowed to board until after I've made the U-Turn. If I'm in a real hurry I'll just go around the block. I've been close a number of times to dumping her (touch wood).

For SAFETIES sake alone NEVER EVER do a u-ie on a hill.
Traffic coming from one way or another may not see you or you them.
That is ASKING for TROUBLE!!!!
Glad you're ok and the bike.
Depending on your physical frailties, you may want to get a buddy over to the house and practice picking the bike up after the two of you gently lay it on it's side (both of them as one is harder than the other without fail).
Find the easiest way for you to pick it up.
On a down hill pick, it is sometimes easier to gently spin the bike til the back wheel is facing down hill. This way you are not fighting against the slope.

There are only two types of Bikers..... 1. Bikers who have dropped their Bike........ 2. Bikers that will drop their Bikes.

Yep, I dropped my 06 EG Classic. Learned a valuable lesson..... Don't wear Tennis Shoes to Ride a Hog...... Always wore my boots, except this time and I Thought "Just a short ride, tenny will be OK this time" Pulled into a Parking space I had pulled into many times with boots on, only to find out when leavingit was a very slight down hill. When trying to back out, Tennis Shoes just didn't have the GRIPand support...... Foot slipped and down she went. You know the "Rest of the Story"......... Never Ride A Hog without BOOTS................ hdman

It's like an airplane w/retractable gear. There are two types of pilots, one who has landed gear up and the ones that are going to sooner or later. Had my 04 ultra about a week , layed over on driveway only scraped the bottom of the left lower fairing, can't see it unless you area on the ground . Still PMO. But my fault, I had to get my wife to hold the front brake as I lifted it up because it wanted to roll backwards and scrape more. Live and learn and get over it. Every body will do it sooner or later.

Main thing is your ok!!
I dropped mine at the local drug store 1 week after I bought her. I had not ridden in many years, and was already a bit nervous. Looked down to make sure I was not standing in oil, and the bike went where I looked.
Worse part, LOTS of witnesses, including a gal on a Heritage that ended up being the one to help me pick up...
Talk about feeling like a D/A. Looked for a place to hide my shame, unable to locate....

Yea, I dropped my, 1st day i had it, stopped at a buddy's house to show it off, slight uphill, when i reached over to ring his bell to open the gate (apartment building) well..i leaned one way, my wife leaned the other, just a slow drop n the right side. I was glad to get the character mark outta the way...lol...slight scuff on the right crash bar

Sorry to hear about that, but glad you're okay. Sounds like the bike is fine as well. Stay safe!
