I installed the DTT so anyone can.I was so intimidated buy the thing (ask Phil and John) that I couldn't sleep at night but once I learned a few things like applying the BLM's and adjusting the timing,it's just everyday tinkering now.Like others have said,You can't go wrong with either but for Me,I love my DTT.

I'll give you my unbias opinion even though I run the TMax. Download and play with both systems software and go with the one that you feel the most comfortable with.Either onewill accomplish your goals.

I too build several Mustangs and my last ran a SDS stand alone engine management. I love tuning my engines myself.
Iwas able totry the software on both units because I wanted to see what I was going to be dealing with. Both were well done and very usable but, I found the spreadsheet/chart method in the DTT to be much easier to work with. The Tmax software isn't that hard to work with overall either, but I could see where smoothing out a curve for a range of RPMs vs throttle positions could be done much easier/faster with the DTT software. With the DTT you could edit all of the AFR range in a single table. After using the software though, I didn't find either program to deter me from purchasing one or the other which made it that much more confusing to pick one. It's great to know that there are so many helpful people on the forums though to share their experiences. With all this advice, I might finally be able to make up my mind.

On a '07 FLHX do the head pipes need to be removed to replace O2 sensors to put on Tmax O2 sensors?
Nope. An 02 sensor wrench might help, but a standard open end 7/8 will work . I use a stubby and an 02 wrench. See pic.

I too am trying to make a decision. Sometimes I think the amount of information floating around just makes it more difficult.
I also contacted both DTT & Zippers to get their opinions. Since I really have no intentions of "a build" and just want my bike to run right I was told that the DTT is overkill. Based upon this conversation that does not sound true. Also it appears that you DTT users have found this unit to be closer to plug & play than the TMax.
My preference would be to install one of the units along with whatever necessary set-up of a base mapping. Then ride the bike and let the closed loop system work it's magic. I have heard a lot of tuning issues with the TMax and it's learning capabilities.
I also really don't want to have to go put my bike on a dyno. In my mind that defeats the purpose of the self tuning.

Does anybody know of any person or shopin the Houston,Tx area that has experience with either of these units?

Thanks!!

just put the O2 sensor in the pipe before you install the pipe
