Default Wet Spot

Ok it's not on the sheets. It's on the ground right under the primary case drain. Never drips except when I ride it on a hot day for some distance. I did replace the primary gasket when I put in a automatic chain tensioner. Could it be the jackshaft seal and how do I tell. It looks like 10W-40 oilI put in the primary so I am sure it is not the transmission. Any help would be appreciated.

Is it coming from the backside of the inner primary cover?

Or

Is it coming from the drain itself?

After you replaced the primary cover gasket.....did you replace the inspection covers as well? If you re-used those, they have a habit of seaping while you ride. The fluid ends up at the location you are describing.

That sounds pretty close to being the same as mine did. I ended up having to have the starter seal replaced under warranty. Apparently between the starter seal and the seal where the shifter goes into the back of the primary.

If it's not coming from the primary, it's probably coming from the transmission. Not unusual - we've seen many of those during this hot summer. 2-3 hours depending on the bike.

52edub, where were you stationed? I flew Buffsat Minot 89-96. Barksdale 96-01 and with the ACC IG 01-04. Now I'm rotting in the Joint Staff at the Pentagon.
