Default Sunray seat, heated grips and electrical

Hi all. Excellent forum. I'm the proud new owner of a 2007 FLHRC, and I want to put a Sunray heated seat and heated grips on it. Can anyone tell me if the stock electrical system can stand both of these items on at the same time? Is overload an issue?

Thanks!

Roger

Default RE: Sunray seat, heated grips and electrical

I've got them on my 2006 Road Glide, and it's no problem at all. The newer bikes (after 02, i think) all came with a 3 phase alternator. That might mean nothing to you, but it's a drastic increase in power output (and it's about time too.!!) So go ahead and toss them on, the accesory plug is under your stock seat, just in front of the battery.. just plug her in and flip your acc. switch and you're in business. The heated grips are a bit more complicated, but no big deal at all.. They are fused for 2A and I'm in Canada and rode my bike since March without getting frostbite.. it's a bonus for sure!
