HD Radio/CB installed on Police Model EG
My buddy has an '06 FLHTPI (Houston paint scheme) and approached me about installing a Biketronics retro radio kit--he had seen the installation on my '04 police EG and asked me to do the wiring.
After buying the Biketronics stuff, he changed his mind and decided he had to have the CB and weather channels not available with the Biketronics kit, and he didn't want the other alternatives (J&M, handheld, etc.), so he bought an '02 HD Ultra radio/CB (the one with the cassette player) and asked me to do the wiring for that instead.
With theuse of the relevant wiring diagrams, the installation was a success--everything worked on the first try--with the exception of the left audio switch due to my faulty assembly of the left handlebar Deutsch connector (this was provided free of charge by another friend from his '07 Classicbut uses Molex connectors and has the clutch interlock switch.)
In terms of work involved, this installation was much more involved than my comparatively simple installation of the Biketronics interface unit. In addition to the Base Audio Connector assembly and wiring, thereare the additional Ultra connection for the radio, a console pod connector (which requires lifting the tank and running wires to the battery area), installation of the PTT/squelch switch in the left handlebar switch housing, etc.
If you have a cop bike or EG Standard, this is another alternative to the radio/CB issue.
Fortunately, my buddy wasn't interested in doing rear speakers with passenger controls--at least not yet.
He did say, however, that he wants to install cruise controlon his bike--I hope he waits a couple of months before westart this project.

PhilM: I bought the Harley thinking I would get "hooked up."Turns out "hooking up"for me has meant Duetsch connectors, AMP connectors, and crimping tools.[:@]
And let me know when you publish "DTT for Dummies." Those guys should be paying you for all of the customer service calls theyDON'T get because of your assistance to folks here on HDF and elsewhere.
