Default What the cruising RPMs for a RKC

Hi All

Since RKC's don't have a tach, can someone telll me what my rpms are for 3rd gear at 35mph, 4th gear at 45mph and 5th gear at 55, 65 and 75mph?

Also what is the recommended cruising RPM?

Thanks ahead for your help..

Good question, it's a 2002.

All my cars are standard shifts and I'm used to driving by a tach. I have know idea when I'm getting close to red line over ******* the bikedown to low, but the itseems happy at these gears and speeds.

Do you know where I can find it?

Thanks HiTech, that helps me a lot. What is redline on these things. Not that I will know I hit until a valve shoots past my head.

This is the one I have on my '01 RKC - I liked it because it kept the Classic look to it...

Combination Speedometer/Tachometer - Black Face

Maintain the clean view over the handlebar. This unique combination Speedometer/Tachometer allows you to monitor engine speed without adding a handlebar-mounted tach. The unit mounts in the stock dash opening, and is a direct plug-in installation on many models. The backlit face aids night viewing, and the gauge features an easy-to-read LCD odometer/tripmeter. Mileage reinstatement is available through your Dealer. This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle. 74461-03A IN-STORE PURCHASE ONLY Contact dealer for pricing and availability.

MPH Calibrated Fits '95-'03 FLHR and '00-'03 Softail® models (except FXSTD). '95-'98 FLHR models require Speedometer / Tachometer Retrofit Kit P/N 74468-03. MSRP US $419.95

You can also get the Mini Tack that mounts above your Ign Switch Housing...
