FLHRS Oil Temp Gauge Placement

RE: FLHRS Oil Temp Gauge Placement
I have decided that I'm probably going to chance it and go with the following:
1.)Harley-Davidson Oil Level and Temperature Dipstick with Lighted LCD Readout. Part # 62946-05. MSRP US $134.95
I know some people have reported that this thing is a piece of crap and breaks, but others love it. Besides, it's way simpler than the gauge install and I don't have to tap into the oil system to get a temp reading. I read about how one guy actually had oil starvation on his engine after the gauge install from the dealer. No way, no thanks.

How about this one with the mount of your choice. Use a 3/8" male npt X 1/8" female npt adapter in the allen head next to the engine oil drain and you are in business..
