You might want to use the search utility at teh bottom of the page.

You will find as many opinions as folks who will respond.

I think you'll only find two opinions; yes or no.

My opinion is without a doubt, get it. It's the main reason I traded an '07 Heritage for an '08 EGC.

Mine just paid for themselves today. Car pulled out in front of me, I had to brake hard and felt the ABS kick in. Bike stayed stable and stopped quick. Worth every freakin' penny.

The California Highway Patrol orders all their HD's with ABS.

I wouldn't order a new HD without it.

You can bet I'd have gotten it on my '06 Ultra had it been available. I've got ABS on my '02 Gold Wing. I saw a demonstration of ABS on a BMW at a rally in Frankfort, KY in 1990and it made a believer out of me. I'd say it's worth it. Wish I had it on my HD.

Had many Harley's over the years and always hated the brakes. The HD abs is why I'm not on a BMW right now. I have an 08 SG with abs coming in a week or so. After riding the BWM and having the abs save me more than once it's nice to be coming home. I will compare the two some time later this month.

Only got 700 miles on the new Ulta and that's the best 800 clams I ever spent! With the new Brembos and the ABS, probably the best innovation Harley's had in many years! DO IT.

quick answer is yes get it.

The maximum braking force available comes at the point where your tyre is just about to lock up but hasnt yet done so. The ABS will modulate your braking faster than is humanly possible to get as close to the maximum braking efficiency as you will get. You may never need it with good riding and a little luck, but if you do need it you will think the money well spent.
