I have the Warm N Safe unit I linked in post #7. The remote unit uses 2 AAA batteries and I just change out every fall as I ride year 'round. There are no controls on the receiving unit, but if the remote craps out on the road, the unit stays at about 30% so at least you are still warm. You could buy a replacement remote like the Gerbing. One plus on the Gerbing is you have temp controls on the receiver as well.
