Been off the bikes for a long time due to medical issues. took the time to clean up the SuperGlide real good. 74 degrees today (10/21) Fired it up, got the engine good and warm and took it out. Boy have I become a little rusty. While riding it seems all the pain just disappeared, getting to the point of siphoning all the pickled gas out filling up with fresh premium and pickle it all over again. Last thing is to polish the back wheel. The old gal looks like a 2 year-old bike. To all the year round riders have fun, to the snow belt folks, I feel your pain.

I wrote a thesis on what I call “Jeff’s theory of time if relativity”.
In your mind, time is referenced to how long you have been alive. The older you get, each fixed time slot is a smaller percentage of your total life. Such as when you are 18 years old, 6 months represents 3% of your life. But, when you are 50 years old, the 6 months represents only 1% of your life. So, your 6 month summer at age 50 seems 3 times shorter than when you were 18.

Down here on the Island I can usually get a ride in at least once a month. Rare winter that will have me not riding in January or February, when we get snow it usually melts away in a week. Flathead is perfect for a "snotty" ride in wet and muck, if I need to scratch the itch. New Year's Day rides are common. But yes, in my 20's riding in the 20's on a sunny day seemed reasonable, not so much anymore without a real good reason.

When a storm is threatening, I buy 30 gallons of fuel to run generators if needed. Usually pure gas goes in those 5 gallon containers. If we do not loose power, I can fill wife's van and the motorcycle a couple of times.
