Default Older Street Glide Values Seem To Be In The Toilet

My first street glide was a 2010 purchased new. When the 2014's came out with all the new features, I had to have one. Sold the 2010 with 22k miles and got for what I paid for it. Now I'd like to sell the 2014 and can't hardly give it away. It's a garage queen, SGS with only 8,800 miles, in perfect shape, stage 1, with lots of extras. I had an offer earlier this summer for $12,500 and didn't take it (should have). Had a broker pestering me this summer, wanting to give $11,500 and didn't budge. The most recent offer was $10k and didn't take that either. Reached back out to the broker and he's no longer interested. I guess if I wait long enough, I can raffle it off, maybe?

A co-worker just bought a new SGS with the big Milwaukee 8 and paid less than I paid for 2014. I know HD flooded the market with street glides at one point because of their popularity. I also know the market is down, plus the bike is 10 years old with a 103 "twinkie" motor. I also know that I usually think my stuff is worth a lot more than it really is.

So....what would you do?

Realistically, if you don't need the money, just keep it. If the market is saturated with used baggers where you live you won't get very much, plus winter is around the corner. It's a buyer's market...

Good advice. I think I'll hang on to it for now.

You don't ride much, if you are getting out of riding, dump it.

Just keep it, she's barely broken in. Nothing wrong with the 103.

I've had 3 other bikes that I've been riding but I'm getting old and my health is failing so I'm selling them all.

So dump them. Value is not going to go up as years go up.

Spring is typically a better time for selling a motorcycle. It might be worth the wait.

Might be. As long as spring doesn't become fall, and might as well wait for next spring, as gas gets old and another year older. Now you need a battery. Not saying I disagree. But if I was getting out of bikes, I might put them for sale and see what I get. Get them out of the garage.

I can testify to the hyperbole, myself, and still got the damn bike in my garage 7 years later.

One was only 4 years old and this one is 10 years old so there's that, plus the flooded bagger market doesn't help. Timing is also everything. Hold off til next spring might get you a bit more but then again it will be even older then.
